Indoor smart lighting and outdoor smart lighting play different roles in applications. Outdoor smart lighting is not applied to Indoor Lighting products, and indoor smart lighting products cannot be used outdoors. The same is the lighting system, what are the differences?
1. Different waterproof grades Indoor lighting smart products generally do not have very high requirements on the waterproof level, and IP20 can basically meet the indoor environment; while outdoor smart lighting needs to withstand wind, sun and rain, so the waterproof level of outdoor smart lighting products must reach at least IP65 , and even higher IP66~8. Improving the waterproof level is not only to improve the sealing performance of the product, but also to consider various design factors, such as the formation of condensed water due to the large temperature difference between day and night outdoors, and whether there are exhaust (water) holes to volatilize. 2. Differences in product material and surface treatment Indoor smart lighting products have hidden spaces such as ceilings. In terms of product materials, in addition to heat dissipation requirements, it is not necessary to pursue the use of all-metal materials, especially the adapter part, which basically does not require metal materials as the shell, while outdoor smart lighting products should be considered. Waterproof, rust-proof, impact-resistant, etc., require higher-quality materials and different surface coating materials. 3. Different signal coverage If wireless communication technology is used, the difference in product material directly brings about the difference in the coverage of wireless signals. The signal antennas of indoor smart lighting products are mostly hidden in the plastic casing, and the distance between each device is not far and the number of devices is not large. The application environment of outdoor smart lighting products requires a long enough distance, a large number of devices, and even thousands of devices tens of kilometers away. These are professional tests for outdoor smart lighting systems. 4. The difference in wiring Indoor smart lighting mostly uses 220V as the main circuit power supply mode; and outdoor smart lighting products, for safety reasons, mostly use 12~24V as the main circuit power supply. Although the safety is guaranteed, the transmission of weak voltage is greatly reduced. The transmission distance of current makes it impossible to supply power at a long distance; and the application of new energy solar technology can break the limitation of transmission distance on the premise of ensuring safety.
